The first commission for Tim A. Duncan to write music for Tony Mercer and the Russian Ice Stars saw the story of Peter Pan told for the first time on an ice rink built on stage in a theatre. A full UK tour ensured Tim’s score and the choreography of Giuseppe Arena was heard and seen by near sell-out audiences. The songs co-written by Nick Jackson, Dave Alexander and Edward Barnwell featured the voice of Ethnie Brown as ‘Wendy’ and David Fawcett as ‘Hook’ together with Nick’s own voice landing the part of ‘Pan’. Orchestral arrangements by Tim and Pete Whitfield, performed by a combination of Mirrortown (Tim, Nick, Edward and Dave’s collective name) and The Manchester Symphony Orchestra provide a lush and dynamic backing to one of the UK’s favourite stories. A specially commissioned painting by artist Mary Rudkin was used on the front cover of the CD.
